Choosing certification
What is management system certification?
It is an assessment and certification decision concerning an organization’s management system against an identified standard within a defined scope. It does not automatically approve every product, service, branch or subsidiary of the organization. Read the introductory guide.
Does ISO issue certificates?
ISO develops standards; certification is carried out by certification bodies. When reviewing a certificate, identify its issuer rather than treating the ISO standard number as the name of the issuing organization. ISO explains certification here.
Which standard should my organization choose?
Start with the outcome or requirement you need to address. Quality, food safety, information security and business continuity are different subjects. A customer may specify a particular standard, scope or accreditation requirement. Use the portfolio comparison to frame an enquiry.
Can a small organization apply?
Size alone does not settle suitability. The activities, applicable requirements and proposed scope matter. Describe the actual organization rather than assuming it must imitate the documentation of a much larger business. Read the small-business guide.

How much does certification cost?
The proposed standard, scope, activities, personnel, sites and assessment arrangements affect the work required. Ask for a quotation that makes clear what is included and what may be charged separately. This website does not publish a universal price.
Can you guarantee a certificate by my deadline?
No outcome should be assumed before the required review, assessment and decision. Tell EQRM the deadline and its reason so feasibility can be discussed. Preparation, findings and access to evidence can all affect timing.
Is a remote audit always possible?
No. Suitability depends on the activities, evidence, technology, confidentiality arrangements and applicable programme. Do not assume an assessment can be entirely remote because a meeting can be held online.
Does a new edition automatically cancel an existing certificate?
Do not draw that conclusion from a catalogue update alone. Confirm the actual certificate status and the applicable transition arrangements with the issuing body. Standard publication and certification transition are related but distinct matters.
Does EQRM have an office in each market listed?
Market resources address organizations in those locations. They do not state that EQRM has a local office. Availability and delivery arrangements are confirmed for each enquiry.

Can I check a certificate without applying for certification?
Yes. Use Certificate Verification to search an EQRM certificate number. If the record is missing or unclear, choose Certificate verification query in the contact form.
How do I start?
